A Dress, A Vest, & A Belt

It's Monday...which doesn't really make a difference to me since I am enjoying a fairly work-free summer. It's okay, I understand if you hate me. But don't hate me to the point where you stop reading my blog, that's just not okay. Let's discuss today's outfit (ironically, worn to work).
First, I walked in like this.
Vest: Rachel Rachel Roy Dress: A.L.C. Belt: Cara Shoes: Ash
Then I changed to this. I am a little obsessed with each piece I am wearing in today's outfit, particularly my rad vest. Obviously, I am in lurve with my similar Club Monaco vest, but it's way too heavy to wear in the warm weather.
While in Macy's, I stumbled upon this bad ass Rachel Rachel Roy lighter style and couldn't resist it's pure chic-ness and even better price. What more could I ask for?! Next, my A.L.C. dress is a linen and cotton mix which is light enough to wear in the heat of the summer but also heavy enough to pair with tights for those warm fall days! I love the way the bottom of the dress is ruched and the top is like a sporty racerback tank. It's perfect for pairing with an oversize crop top too!
Here I am, just lounging on my couch being totally photogenic as usual. I just couldn't help pairing the amazing Cara belt over the vest for an even more bad ass (yes, even when you didn't think it was possible for me to get more bad ass, I just did) look.
 Look ma, no shoes!

And now, for the grand finale, the arm candy accessories!

Marissima

I know I'm a day late on my first street style post, forgive me! I'm sure you've all been glued to your computers, neglecting any and all plans awaiting this post. For that, I truly apologize, I understand how near and dear you hold my posts to your hearts. Bless you, all. But seriously, I've been a beach bum this entire week, I can barely bring myself to do anything else aside from lay out and burn my skin to a perfect crisp. So, without further adieu, I introduce you to MARISSIMA!
Top: Forever 21 Shorts: H&M Shoes: Lucky Brand Long Necklace: Kate Spade Short Necklace: Swarovski
Name: Maria
Age: 21
Here she is everyone, my first subject for street style. How effortlessly perfect is she?
What first caught my eye were her adorable golden-bronze cutout oxfords, simple & adorable. I couldn't ask for more. Like any girl interested in style, I creepily stared at her for quite some time before noticing this...
 It's a necklace, it's a pendant, it's a ... PEN!
THE NECKLACE IS A PEN! I mean, really, how awesome is this necklace? I need it in my life. Just like my blog needed Maria. What a match, what a match, I tell ya! Not only is Maria the perfect combination of simple and chic, she is also an ah-maze-ing artist, graphic design that is. Check out her blog @ Seemari.
Time to stuff my face with food that's terrible for me, then cry about my food baby later in the evening.
Is your street style, Style Sidewalk worthy? SURE IT IS!

I Spy..Tie-Dye!

I spy with my pretty, little eye... a tie-dye skirt! What more can you ask for in a slamming summer staple? I decided to go for a monotone color look while mixing patterns at the same time. Yeah, I did it. Cool.
Top: Felicity Brown No. 23 Skirt: Gryphon Shoes: Zodiac Necklace: Kenneth Jay Lane
Don't I just look like the happiest camper? Aside from my obvious happiness, I love the way the tank and the skirt meshed together to form this awesome look. The prints on both the tank and skirt almost intertwine to form one totally bad ass look. What do you say, fellow fashionistas?
Here I am, practicing my best curtsy for you all. I also felt inclined to do this because of the ballerina bun atop my head; I've been having beach hair, I can't be bothered to do my hair anymore. Sue me.
Leather Bracelet: Tory Burch Bangle: Hermes
My accsessor-ehs. (say it slow) I like to oddly pronounce my words, it makes me feel cool. Just kidding, I already know I'm cool.
See ya, See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya! (I kid, I kid). Tune in tomorrow for my first STREET STYLE FEATURE! Well, that will be after I bask in the sun at the beach for numerous hours on end.
xoxo Andie
PS. Can we just all say "thanks mom" for these great photos, I mean it doesn't really get better than this. That is, unless someone would like to volunteer their professional services, then that's another story. (Don't get mad, Mom, love you!)

Resort 2012

We've barely had a full month of warm weather here in NY and aren't even near Fall yet, but the Resort 2012 looks are out. I for one, can't wait to search high and low for the just right pieces to add into my growing wardrobe. Here are some of my favorite looks thus far.
Can we talk about the leather collar?! How delicious. Nothing says resort like leather collars.
I am loving the simple, easiness of the Tibi collection; a little romantic with a bit of an edge, but nothing is too fussy.

Erdem is one of the designers I fell in love with while interning at Barneys. His silhouettes are so classic and ladylike, but his designs are infused with an intense spirit of color and boldness which is always expressed through his to-die-for prints. I was fortunate enough to meet him while interning and I've got to say, the man knows what he is doing. His prints are so wild yet beautiful and the fabrics he uses in his collections are simply beyond. I remember one of his dresses for Spring '11 was created out of a rain mac twill normally used for waterproof trench coats, how genius!
Orange turban? I'm sold. Perfect addition to your beach look.
Ah, Missoni, I don't think there is ever a collection I don't drool over. Their signature knit print was obviously all over in this collection, but it manages to seamlessly look cool no matter the color or article of clothing it is show on.

White Alright

Man, do I love this dress. Yet another post of me showcasing my favorite white skirt worn as a dress, I just can't get enough of it. It's so easy and can be paired with anything for a casual day look or a dressed up casual evening look.
This dress was perfect for the graduation party I was attending; white cotton gauze for a bit of casual, paired with black gladiator inspired sandals to dress it up a bit. Anything that is easy and doesn't require me to think, I immediately fall in love with, hence, why I've posted this skirt/dress so much!
Skirt (worn as dress): Club Monaco Shoes: L.A.M.B
Ring: YSL Gold Bracelet: Henri Bendel Rope Bracelet: glamROK
What is it about a great shoe that can totally transform an outfit? Let's talk shoes...I particularly love these because a) I don't own a single pair like them (shocker) b) They're a cross between a gladiator and a t-strap sandal and we all know what t-straps do for our legs, ladies c) They're gorgeous, hello!
"A" Necklace: Helen Ficalora Cross Necklace: Jennifer Zeuner Long Necklace: glamROK
Clutch: Vintage Fendi
Sometimes the simplest of outfits are best and at times, less is definitely more.

There is no better way to celebrate the beginning of summer weather than in white and/or bright colors. Thinking about my first slight tan of the summer season, I had the ingenious idea of...combing the two together! I'm just kidding, it's not really an ingenious idea, anyone could have thought of combining the two, but I did first, so I'm cooler. Anyway, I had a quick "photo shoot" outside my place of work yesterday to showcase the lovechild I created with white and bright.
Top: JCrew Shorts: H&M Shoes: Modern Vintage
Finally, I got to parade down the extra clean streets of Astoria in my H&M white eyelet little shorts! Extra points for me being that by the end of the day, I looked like I was wearing a diaper. Chic!
One of my amazingly smart friends (that's you Maria!) suggested I link the pieces of my outfits so you can all look like me. Yes! Don't thank me, thank her.
Pre-diaper phase, but you can totally see it getting there.
Neon yellow nails, bright turquoise ring and a blood orange top combined with a turtle-like pose? Am I styling or what?!
SO to all my blog readers out there, I'm thinking I'd like to feature YOUR street style, once a week on my B-L-O-G. No, you won't win anything...but your friends will probably like you even more than they already do because you're awesome style is being featured on my blog. Send me your best street style photo and check back each Friday to see if yours was chosen! Note to my friends: you better send me pictures whether you like it or not. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a graduation party to attend.

Moody Blues, Minus the Moody

Sorry to all my dear followers for the lack of posts...I was out East on Tuesday and got a sunburn that is still kicking my ass. I'm chilling in my birthday suit as much as possible, na'mean?! Okay, but for real my new Modern Vintage wedges came in yesterday and I knew I had to pair them with my outfit for work today and post for all my blog lovers!

 Shoes: Modern Vintage
Cognac leather with a textured blue wedge? Amazeballs! I couldn't wait to put these bad boys on my feet and stomp around the salon like it was nobody's business. What is it about a summer wedge that makes any outfit that much better? Who cares, you look dope!
Have you guys met my adorable, yet crazy pups Tigre? Probably not, since I do not know most (any) of you. Here she is trying to get in the spotlight, as per usual. She's amazing. I know you wish she was your dog, but she's not, so sorry, sucks to be you right now. Just kidding.
Dress: Cheap Monday Bracelet: Juicy Couture
Check out my mom's photography skills...I say she's getting better every time! Keep it up, Ma. So I decided to pair these wedges with this sack dress and punch up the dress with a suede blue belt. I was initially drawn to this dress because of its shapelessness, because what better way to look like a total trend setter than in a dress designed to look like a sack? The belt is a necessity with this dress, particularly because the slightest gust of wind will cause the front to fly open and expose my undies to the world. I'm not Britney guys, I can't pull that look off.
 Just admiring my shoes
Belts: JCrew (leopard) Club Monaco (blue suede)
Want to make your friends even more jealous of your fabulous fashion fierceness (you like the triple F threat, don't you). Double up on your belts, girls! Extra security for those fly away dresses, extra fashion points with me. The double belt will have your boyfriends asking, "What the hell is wrong with you?" How much more assurance do you need to know you look F-A-B than that, I mean COME ON! Now excuse me while I get undressed and bask in the glory that is aloe vera lotion.
